The impact of transformational leadership on innovative work behavior: the mediating role of task learning motivation and innovation climate

Abstract
The primary objective of this research is to investigate the impact of transformational leadership on innovative work behavior, mediated by task learning motivation and innovation climate, in the branches of Ayandeh Bank in Mashhad. The statistical population of this study consists of all employees of Ayandeh Bank branches in Mashhad, totaling 407 individuals. Data were collected using four standardized questionnaires, which included measures for transformational leadership, innovative work behavior, task learning, and innovation climate. The questionnaires were distributed online to the respondents. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were employed for data analysis. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the hypotheses. Additionally, the SPSS and LISREL software packages were utilized for computations. The results indicated that transformational leadership has a significant impact on innovative work behavior, task learning motivation, and innovation climate. Furthermore, task learning motivation and innovation climate were found to mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and innovative work behavior. Specifically, task learning motivation mediates the effect of transformational leadership on innovative work behavior, and innovation climate also mediates the effect of transformational leadership on innovative work behavior.
